The Coachmen's third and most recent compilation, "Arise" was released in January 2007; a collection considered by many critics their most original and diverse to date. From classic country gospel, American folk, and 50's "doo-wop", to Contemporary Christian and more recent family-oriented material, "Arise" is indeed one for the record. The album opens with an awakening version of the gospel classic "Your First Day in Heaven", and follows with such country gospel favorites as "Daddy Was an Old Time Preacher Man", made famous by Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, and Kris Kristofferson's "Why Me Lord". The album also includes such gospel spirituals and pop classics as the Statesmen's "Everyday Will Be Sunday" and Pat Boone's "Wonderful Time Up There." The group is also featured on the old river boat and movie-based folk classic "Shenandoah" and on Randy Travis' nostalgic hit "He Walked On Water." The album is closed with a unique Coachmen rendition of the classic hymn "Beyond the Sunset", which includes a moving narrative by Bob Campbell. As always, the group includes samples of their original material, and this album is specifically highlighted by its contemporary title track "Arise", penned by Chris Campbell, in addition to Bob Campbell's "Sandlot Hero", which depicts the life of an American child who dies fighting for his country.

About Arise

Arise represents The Coachmen’s third compilation as a four-man enterprise, following the releases of This Old House in 2004 and Going Home in 2005. Led by original singles “I Pledge My Allegiance to the Cross”, “Home Sweet Home Virginia”, “When the Eagle Flies” and “Three Roses”, these prior albums gained the group access to gospel radio and a grass roots touring schedule that gained them notoriety as a gospel entertainment act. While all of their recordings are reminiscent of their gospel heritage and small town roots, Arise is their most original and diverse to date. From classic country gospel, American folk and 50’s “doo-wop” to contemporary Christian and more recent family-oriented material, Arise is indeed one for the record. As always, the group includes samples of their original material, and this album is specifically highlighted by its title track penned by Chris Campbell, in addition to Bob Campbell’s “Sandlot Hero”, depicting the life of an American child who dies fighting for his country. Throughout the story of the Coachmen, three themes have always been present: a belief in original music, a dedication to the family band, and a focus on quality entertainment for all ages. The songs of Arise mark yet another chapter of the story. Whether you’re a gospel fan or just a fan of good, down-home music, you are bound to be moved by this group. Be part of the Coachmen experience!

Our Thanks

As we do each time we gather together, we want to thank, first and foremost, our Lord and Savior for the talent to touch people through music. We acknowledge how special this opportunity is. Second, we want to thank our families for their unconditional support of our cause and for their sacrifice in allowing us to be away from home so much. You are the rock behind this group. Third, thank you to our personal ministers, Roger Browning, David Anderson, Russell Heinrich, and all of the other ministers that have played such a role in our lives; you are part of the Coachmen. Fourth, to Pam Barton and Blue Ridge Talent agency, thank you for taking us on as your first-born and for continuing to grow with us in this endeavor. In our day-to-day business we rarely take time out to just say thanks. Fifth, we want to thank Alive Studios for producing yet another quality recording. It is always a special experience going into the studio with you behind the curtain. Sixth, thanks to Robby Meadows and Jeff Duffield for yet another round of instrumental compliments. You really make our piano and guitar arrangements come to life. Seventh, thanks to Vince and Lisa Lerz, and to Becky Fisher for the great photography work. Eighth, thank you to all of the radio stations who spin our records. It is always so much fun visiting with you, and we can’t tell you how critical you are to our mission. And finally, thank you to all of the churches and other venues that invite us into their doors, and to all of those who come to see our live shows and share us with your friends. We are forever indebted to you.
